After teaching Fitness Classes for almost 23 years I thought I heard of and tried almost every workout! Until I visited Lightening Fit!
Lightening Fit is the future in fitness! Why you ask? Maybe because you only workout for 25 minutes, but get a three-hour workout and you’re sore for three days after! But I’m getting ahead of myself! Let’s back up.
I’ve always been skeptical of any gadgets that claim they can get you fit. Skeptical until last year when I tried Emscuplt for the first time and totally saw results! That’s why when I had an opportunity to try Lightening Fit, a state-of-the-art workout that combines traditional exercises with electrodes that stimulate your muscles, I was so excited to see if it actually worked!
Before I had my first Lightening Fit session, I researched it. I found a video online of the actual workout and thought how is this hard? It was someone running in place holding on to what looked like 3-pound weights, but the person looked like they were dying. I was curious, but also thought, “I’m in shape and this looks like an easy workout!”
Boy, was I wrong!!!
On my first session, I wore a cute workout outfit, had full-makeup on and brought my photographer. I thought there’s no way I’m going to sweat so I’ll come camera ready. Again, I was wrong! I was given a two-piece almost like pajama set, so much for the cute workout outfit, and then helped into another suit by founder and owner, Colleen, that was then hooked into the electrode machine.
I was handed 3-pound weights to hold and the machine was turned on. Immediately I felt currents running through every part of my body and the 3-pound weights now felt like 50-pound weights. The best way to describe it, is it felt like being submerged in mud and even the simplest movement or exercise was challenging to the point where I actually said, “has anyone ever passed out?”
Don’t worry I didn’t pass out! And you won’t either! The cool thing is that the currents can be adjusted to your level of fitness or to an area where you want to focus on more. For example, if you’re looking to blast your abs or glutes during the workout, your trainer can turn the currents up more just in that area. I chose to have all four of my workouts total body ones and believe me, I FELT IT IN EVERY PART OF MY BODY!
After the 25-minute workout, I was wiped! Colleen told me I was going to be sore, but I workout 7 days a week so I didn’t heed the warning. OMG! I could barely walk the next couple of days and that was the case after EVERY session!
The thing I love about this workout is not only is it challenging but convenient! It’s only 25 minutes, but equivalent to working out for three hours! So, it’s perfect for anyone who is busy and can’t devote a full hour to something. I also love that I felt sore after. It’s rare that I get sore from workouts anymore so I loved that I actually felt the results even though I was dying, but in a good way!
