For me, winter used to mean dressing head to toe in black. Because the weather was dreary so was my clothing. Don’t get me wrong, I love black and always will, but winter doesn’t mean you have to look like you’re attending a funeral. We shouldn’t be afraid to add some color to our winter wardrobe and the color that will be on repeat all winter long for me is white.
It’s such a crisp, chic color for the season if done right, so here are a few tips to remember when adding white in winter.
It’s All About the Fabric
When choosing white for winter think about the fabric. If it’s something you would wear to the beach in summer, such as a white eyelet sundress, then you probably should rethink it. Choose a white sweater dress instead and pair it with some over the knee boots for that standout look.
Make the White Pop
Adding a pop of color is always a great idea, but it’s just as good with adding a pop of white! Add some fun white booties or a white faux fur to any black look. I added this gorgeous white cape from Romwe to all black for a sexy and chic look. The cape is seriously stunning and what’s crazy is it’s under $24! This is a staple that every girl should have in her closet. And I don’t want to hear, “I can’t pull it off” because every girl could rock this for a more casual chic look like mine or wear it over a dress for a black-tie affair. Shop the cape HERE!
White Accessories For the Win
Just like my tip on choosing the right fabric to incorporate winter white, same goes for choosing the right white accessories. I have some white shell statement earrings and a white straw clutch that has pineapples on it. Those would be the wrong choice for winter. Instead choose a cute white beanie, a pretty white scarf or some funky white sunnies.
