August to September is always a tough time because you’re slowly trying to transition to fall clothes, but it’s still 100 degrees outside, at least in California! Every store starts carrying sweaters and OTK boots and you’re dying of heat wearing a bikini. What’s a girl to do? I’ve found that adding transitional pieces or in this case transitional colors, allows you to create looks that still work when it’s sweltering outside and when the weather finally starts getting crisp. I’ve been loving all colors yellow lately, but especially mustard. I think it’s such a sophisticated color and can be styled so many ways and for so many seasons.
My dress is pretty and perfect for summer, but with some styling modifications can be worn into fall. For a summer look I paired the dress, that has a pretty floral design, with brown wedges and a great bamboo bag that has been on repeat all summer long. For a more fall look I could easily trade my wedges in for brown booties, a great cross body and denim jacket. An easy transitional piece that will give you a lot to work with and get you a lot of compliments for sure!
